Another cozy restaurant in Labuan Bajo is “The Corner”. It is located on the second floor of Komodo Cruise & Bajo Dive’s offices, at the busiest street of the town. Its wooden floor, open air and two massive chairs with pillows special for you who want to laze down, this place is also one of tourists’ favorite restaurants in town.
“The Corner” also offers Western/European food and Indonesian food in their menu. People love their pizza as it is thick and full with toppings, served on a thick rounded wood. Nice! It also has some barbeque skewers, in which you can choose from chicken, beef to vegetable only (for those who are vegetarians). Beef “Rendang” (rendang is a signature dish from Padang, a city in Sumatera Island) is also among the favorites. Beef “semur” (an Indonesian stew cooked in sweet soya sauce and potatoes) is also a must try.
For those who love seafood, the restaurant offers squid hot plate, tuna steak and fish BBQ. As for snacks, try the “lumpia” (spring rolls). How about the desserts? The chef’s recommendation is banana split. And oh, this is the only place where you can have “Storm” beer!
“The Corner” also provides free wi-fi internet for their customers. Not only that, you can also exchange your books here! Here are the “rules” as written on the bookshelf: “You may exchange 2 books for one, or one book + Rp 10,000 or buy a book for Rp 20,000 (biggest books cost Rp 30,000)”
Price wise? Main dish costs around Rp 35,000 – Rp 60,000.
